Kitsault Energy Proposes Bold Initiative for Canada’s Economic Prosperity and India’s Energy Security (expanded PR)

Washington, DC, USA – (BEST™ NEWS BULLETIN) – October 7, 2025

In an online newsletter received by Dr. Krishnan Suthanthiran, President and Founder of TeamBest Global Companies and Kitsault Energy, the Prime Minister of Canada, the Honourable Mark Carney, Carney outlined Canada’s greatest strengths — its abundant natural resources, its people, and a renewed national spirit of self-reliance and forward momentum.  This vision deeply resonates with Dr. Suthanthiran, who has lived and worked in Canada since 1969, earning a Master's degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Carleton University in 1971 and building businesses across the country ever since.

Suthanthiran has spent over five decades building and operating businesses across Canada.  At the heart of his current efforts is Kitsault Energy (KE) — located in Kitsault, British Columbia, Canada, strategically positioned to support both Canada's economic growth and India's future energy security, KE offers a reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally conscious energy export solution.

India, a growing economy with nearly 1.5 billion people and brilliant minds, currently depends on more than 40 countries to fulfill its energy needs.  In 2016, Suthanthiran met with the CEO of Indian Oil and India’s then-Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas in Vancouver, British Columbia, during an energy summit.  At that time, he proposed a strategic partnership for long-term crude oil (Western Canadian Select) supply at $40 per barrel and natural gas at $2 per million BTU, exported through Kitsault Energy's dedicated energy port and terminal at the Observatory Inlet.  Unfortunately, this proposal was not pursued, as India had existing commitments with Petronas.  Subsequently, India faced a major setback when Petronas canceled its LNG project in Canada, leading to the loss of nearly $500 million USD in investment.

Since January 2013, Suthanthiran has advocated for a dedicated energy pipeline corridor to Kitsault.  He is leading the Kitsault Energy project with a bold vision: to supply crude oil and natural gas in the form of liquid butanol to India through dual pipelines extending to the west coast of British Columbia, near Kitsault and Observatory Inlet (Spectra Energy/Enbridge already has two pipeline routes to the region, approved by the former National Energy Board of Canada).  The plan includes establishing a floating butanol manufacturing facility at Observatory Inlet, a dedicated energy export port and terminal, and transporting crude oil and natural gas to produce and export liquid butanol — a cleaner-burning fuel with broad applications.  Butanol offers advantages over LNG in cost, distribution, and port receipt, without requiring multi-billion-dollar infrastructure investments.

This project would promote Canada's economic prosperity, reduce India's energy supply fragmentation, and provide India with a reliable and strategic energy partner.  Butanol not only reduces automotive pollution when used instead of gasoline or diesel, but it also serves as a clean-burning fuel for natural gas power generation — aligning with India's and global emissions reduction goals.

India can establish long-term supply agreements with Canadian energy companies for natural gas and crude oil at reduced prices, similar to its current deal with Russia.  Canada, along with the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and the First Nations along the Kitsault Energy pipeline route, will see significant benefits from investments totaling tens of billions of dollars in Kitsault Energy's dual pipeline energy project — gaining tax revenues, creating jobs, and supporting job training.  Additionally, the Best Cure Foundation — registered as a non-profit in Canada — operates Pro Health Centers, which focus on proactive, preventive, primary medical, dental, and eye care wellness services.

He has met with leaders from Enbridge, Spectra Energy, and senior officials across Alberta and BC, including former premiers Hon. Christy Clark, Hon. Jason Kenney, and the late Hon. Jim Prentice, who believed the KE plan was preferable to the ultimately rejected Northern Gateway project.  Notably, Enbridge, which initially had no alternative to Northern Gateway, later approached Suthanthiran to discuss using Kitsault as a potential endpoint for a crude oil pipeline.

Unlike other costly and controversial projects — such as Alberta's investment in the now-defunct TransCanada XL Keystone pipeline — KE provides an economical and low-impact alternative.  The plan includes dual pipelines to transport crude oil and natural gas to Observatory Inlet, where a floating butanol manufacturing facility, energy export terminal, and port are planned.  Liquid butanol, a cleaner-burning fuel, offers significant advantages over LNG in terms of cost, distribution, and environmental footprint.  It can reduce automotive emissions, serve as an alternative to diesel and gasoline, and be used in natural gas power generation — aligning with India's climate goals.

KE has already secured the necessary regulatory approvals and boasts a multi-billion-dollar housing and industrial infrastructure in Kitsault, ready for immediate deployment.  The two existing and approved pipeline routes by Spectra Energy/Enbridge enhance the feasibility and speed of implementation.  The project's location — away from Prince Rupert and other sensitive areas — ensures minimal disruption to marine ecosystems and Indigenous fisheries in the protected waters of Alice Arm.

Dr. Suthanthiran strongly believes that this project could serve as a catalyst for finalizing the long-stalled Canada-India free trade agreement, which has been under discussion for over two decades.  A strategic energy partnership would reduce India's supply fragmentation and provide Canada with a stable and growing export market.  Provincial economies — particularly Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan — along with First Nations along the pipeline route, stand to gain from tens of billions of dollars in investment, job creation, tax revenues, and training opportunities.

In addition to energy development, Suthanthiran's Best Cure Foundation, a registered non-profit in Canada, supports health equity through Pro Health Centers, which offer proactive, preventive, and primary care — including medical, dental, and eye care services.

The benefits are substantial — KE already has the necessary regulatory approvals from NEB for a 20-year LNG export permit for up to 20 million tonnes annually, along with a multi-billion USD housing infrastructure and investment in Kitsault.  As India seeks to actively collaborate with Canada, this will serve as a strong incentive for both nations to finalize a free trade agreement that has been under discussion for nearly a quarter of a century!

Canada and India need each other.  Kitsault Energy can be the bridge.

Dr. Suthanthiran is eagerly looking forward to engaging with all stakeholders.
